She picked the place and it wasn't cheap. She was out of my league so I should have known something was up. I definitely had a chick use me for a fancy dinner some months ago. Maybe it hit too close to home for whomever is downvoting lol

What are your thoughts/experiences with this?Įdit: I guess this link really struck a nerve cause someone is going through every one of my responses and downvoting lol I suppose you don't have to like the fact that some women are just looking for a dinner at a fancy restaurant but the research seems to indicate that a decent chunk of women are going on dates with men they have no intention of getting into a relationship with in order to get a free meal at a fancy restaurant.
Here is an article describing it, which also suggests that certain personality types are more prone to engaging in this type of behavior (psychopathic, narcissistic tendencies). I'm not saying this is better or worse than guys who date just for the sex but I think it's interesting to name and acknowledge. I've been in OLD long enough to see the red flags (eg asking a woman if she wants to spend time and her first response is "where?" or just a general nudging to go to a certain restaurant or bar). I knew that a few of the women I've dated were just looking for a free dinner/drinks but I never knew it was ubiquitous enough to actually have a term named for it (22-33% of women admitted to doing it)!! Just discovered this term and I'm cracking up.
